About

Hello fellow Agile enthusiats, my name is Brendan Flynn, thanks for visiting AgileMusings.com. I have been working in software development since 1998 as a project manager developing rich internet applications (RIA), ecommerce sites, email marketing programs and enterprise applications. As a project manager, I have tried every development framework from RUP to PMBOK. It was not until I discovered SCRUM and XP that I found my true calling. I am an Agile evangelist, coach. I am looking to take Agile in new directions with a service focus working beyond my own organization.

Currently, I work in Chicago at ShopLocal as the Director of Project Management in addition to leading the client facing component of our business. We are an agile shop through an through. It is in everything we do. So what is ShopLocal? ShopLocal works with major retailers to build rich internet applications, rich media ads and data services to drive instore sales. It’s local. We work with major retailers and publishers to bring the latest in store deals from the store nearest to your location in a variety of formats.

I decided to write this blog because we are constantly dealing with interesting situatons that are not your garden variety agile and is not covered in books. We have inspected and adapted throughout the years and I want to share my experiences with others so that they may benefit from my experience.
